Business Visa
A Business Visa, also known as the B-1 Visa, is for individuals visiting the U.S. for short business-related stays. It's suitable for business owners or employees attending training, seminars, meetings, or opening branch offices. Visa holders cannot work and must demonstrate strong ties to their home country.
B-1 Visa (Business Visitors)
- Allows entry for 6 months to 10 years.
- Suitable for various purposes, including attending conventions, working on specific projects, and exploring business opportunities.
- Applicants must show financial support, avoid seeking jobs, and comply with laws.
- Spouses, unmarried children, and specific professionals are eligible.
L-1 Visa (Intra-company Transferees)
- Divided into L1A for executives/managers and L1B for skilled workers.
- Requires a qualifying relationship between U.S. and foreign entities.
- Intended for foreign executives, managers, and specialized knowledge employees.
- Allows temporary transfer for up to 7 years.
E-1 Visa (Treaty Traders and Family)
- For personnel of treaty nation companies engaged in substantial trade with the U.S.
- Requires a treaty of commerce and navigation.
- Spouses and unmarried children can accompany, work authorization available for spouses.
- Applicable for key personnel managing U.S. affiliates or branches.
E-2 Visa (Treaty Investors and Family)
- For entrepreneurs from treaty countries making substantial investments in U.S. enterprises.
- Capital investment has no specific threshold, but risk and ownership are key factors.
- Investors and staff must be willing to leave the U.S. upon termination of E-2 status.
- Spouses and unmarried children eligible, similar to E-1.
